MANA — A civilian with a Pacific Missile Range Facility recreation guest pass was pulled from the water at Major’s Bay Recreation Area at approximately noon Wednesday, a PMRF news release states. First-responders performed CPR until a PMRF ambulance arrived.

First-responders performed CPR until a PMRF ambulance arrived. The victim was then transported to Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea.
First-responders were all employees of Manu Kai, a contractor of PMRF:
— Aaron Ekolu Char is an on-call firefighter who was off-duty and surfing at the time, and one of two surfers who first noticed the individual in the water and pulled the individual to shore.
— Bill Quinlan is an on-call security officer who was on the base for training and having lunch at Major’s Bay. Quinlan is also a Kaua‘i County firefighter.
— Kellyne Capuano is an on-duty security officer who was also having lunch at Major’s Bay.
The name and condition of the individual was not provided.
