LIHU‘E — Free tax-preparation services are being offered for Kaua‘i residents at various locations across the island starting this month, according to an AARP (formerly American Association of Retired Persons) press release.
Preference will be given to those 60 and older, but all low- and middle-income taxpayers are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis, and electronic filing will be offered at each location as well, according to the release.
Those interested should bring last year’s tax paperwork and all forms affecting taxes, along with Social Security cards or proof of correct Social Security numbers.
No appointments are necessary for these dates and locations (all times are 9 a.m. to noon unless otherwise listed):
