East and Westside
Kaua‘i Academy of Dance and Gymnastics directed by Michelle Rozon is celebrating 23 years on Kaua‘i. Rozon will be donating her teaching time to the Kaua‘i Concert Association so students who are interested can continue their training. Rozon studied with the American Ballet Theater (ABT) in New York, and later joined The National Ballet of Canada where she performed with Rudolph Nureyev in the 1973 Emmy award winning production of Sleeping Beauty. The Kaua‘i Academy of Dance accepts students age 3 and up, and has space in the Kapa’a classes on Mondays at All Saint’s Gym for about 10 more kids for ballet and tap; and 12 more kids for gymnastics. The intermediate/advanced dance class for students ages 11 and up offers pointe and partnering work and has room for 10 more students. On the Westside students are offered gymnastics on at 4:15 p.m. Wednesdays at the sports building across from Salt Pond Store. That class only has space for six more students; there is also an introduction to dance class for students ages 3 and up at 5:15 p.m. offering ballet, tap and jazz, with room available for 10 new students. Scholarships are available. For more information or to enroll call, 822-9468 or e-mail her at rozonsmom@yahoo.com.
