Kapa‘a Middle School students Casey Nakamura, Cassidy Yatsko, Mahina McGarry and Alanna Bauman and Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School student Rachel Marshall spent Furlough Friday learning about careers at the Kaua‘i Community College.
Nadine Nakamura, Casey’s mom, has been taking the girls around the community so they can get an idea about different career options. On Friday, they visited with Maureen Tabura at the KCC Nursing Department, and even took tests from Sharon Chiba which would help them line up their personalities with different career options.
Nadine said in the past, they’ve visited Judge Trudy Senda and even toured TGI (Cassidy wants to be a photographer). What a great way to spend Furlough Friday!
Coach Richard Matsumoto said people can get ready for the Friday breakfast on Thursday night since the Kaua‘i High School track team will be at Walmart from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday with batches of Krispy Kreme for customer pick-up and a bunch of extra for those who were not hit up by coach Leonard Vegas.
OK, time to go check out Penny Young and the mobile Census van which starts its Kaua‘i road tour today.
