Charlene Steuri said time is running out. The Kauaibots team needs to go to the National Robotics Championship and people still have an opportunity to get in on the “Happy Drawing” for a Las Vegas trip for two donated by a company in Washington state.
Charlene and a bunch of the Kauaibots team members got special permission from Kukui Grove Center to appear at the Monday Market where Kenny Miyoshi and his Masa’s Shave Ice crew were still enjoying brisk business despite the strong trades.
If you expect to see Esther Shigeta at the KIF baseball games, guess again… she’s on her way to Washington to see her grandson play baseball there, and was enjoying a final game with Helene and Mia Ako, Sunday at the 75th AJA State Baseball Tournament.
Gerald Ako is the state AJA secretary and his job was to shag balls since the keiki ball players were too busy trying to catch the chickens. Congratulations to Tom Shigemoto and all the Kaua‘i AJA crew on a great tournament… they even had smoked meat plate lunches!
OK, it’s time to check out Peter Nakamura and the Council at their new meeting place down at the harbor.
