LIHU‘E — Alert Kaua‘i Police Department civilian staff recognized Catherine Marie Curry, 51, when she arrived at KPD headquarters here Friday to report a crime.
Staff recognized her because she was scheduled to be featured as one of the Most Wanted Kauaians in The Garden Island newspaper, said Lt. Sherwin Kaleo Perez, Lihu‘e district commander in the KPD Patrol Services Bureau.
While it is uncertain if Curry was allowed to report the crime, what is certain is that she was promptly placed under arrest based on a grand jury warrant for two counts of first-degree theft.
That left Perez to find a fifth replacement for Curry for this week’s Most Wanted.
Curry’s bail is $10,000.
