The Waimea Menehune put together big offensive outputs in back-to-back games, coming away with a doubleheader sweep of the Kapa‘a Warriors, Saturday at Hanapepe Stadium.
Waimea got the day started by banging out 19 runs in a 19-10 victory.
It managed to follow that up with a better pitching and defensive performance in a 15-3, Game 2 win.
The KIF season rolls along with a single game Wednesday, when Kapa‘a stays on the road and heads to Vidinha Stadium to face the Kaua‘i Red Raiders.
First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
The Menehune are off until Saturday’s doubleheader with Kaua‘i, which will again take place at Hanapepe Stadium.
That will be the Raiders’ final games of the regular season, and thus their last chance to stay in the mix for a KIF title.
Waimea, having won the first round already, can clinch the 2010 KIF crown if it can grab the second-round championship.
