But before Kamehameha Day, there is Troy Lazaro and the Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club May Day program that starts with Aunty Janet Kahalekomo from 9:30 a.m. until whenever. Troy said they are supposed to have some nighttime events, too.
And since May Day is Saturday this year (today), Chris Fayé and the Kaua‘i Museum folks don’t have to juggle the Lei Day Contest.
Along the way, congratulations to Brenda Jose who was getting some training from Michelle Panoke at the Kaua‘i Food Bank. Kudos to the food bank on being a finalist in the Better Business Bureau Torch Awards Wednesday. How are we doing on the Spring Healthy Food and Fund Drive?
Calvin Paleka is already trying to juggle his Saturday schedule between the county’s age-group track meet and the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation boys volleyball game at the Bernice Hundley Gym at Kapa‘a High School. Ross Shimabukuro, Kaua‘i High School athletic director, said the Raider-Island School match will have the junior-varsity game starting at 3 p.m. and the varsity match at 5 p.m. because it’s prom night for Island School.
With all that going on, drive carefully and stay safe! Happy May Day, Kaua‘i!
