John Wartman
John Wartman of Kapa‘a died April 26, 2010, at his home at age 76. Born on April 26, 1934, in Watkins, Minn., he was a teacher and manufacturing manager.
He is survived by his wife Margie Wartman; son John D. Wartman of Kapa‘a; daughters Kathryn “Kelly” Bailey of Wailua, Christine “Tina” Wartman of Wailua and Amy J. Winters of Kapa‘a; and two grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Mary Kahler
Mary Nell Dreier Kahler of Lihu‘e died May 3, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born on August 6, 1918, on Kaua‘i, she retired from the Social Security Office with the Government of New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her brother Dick Dreier and daughter Naomi Meyers Finder.
She is survived by her daughter Marsha Gilbert of Colorado; son Kapena Carter of O‘ahu; sister Hermine (Tiki) Vasconcellos of O‘ahu; caregivers Barry and Allan Arruda; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private services were held.
Arrangements are being handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Yrinea Motilla
Yrinea S. Motilla of Lihu‘e died April 24, 2010, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital at age 86. Born on May 13, 1923, in the Philippines, she was a retired laborer.
She is survived by her caregiver Cresencia “Chris” Sagucio; sister Uvana Macayan; brother Lorenzo Motilla; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m., Mass celebrated at 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 13, at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Marilyn Clark
Marilyn Denise Clark of Kapa‘a died April 24, 2010, at her home at age 58. Born on Jan. 18, 1952, in San Diego, Calif., she retired from Apo’s Sheet Metal.
She is survived by her son Lani Clark; granddaughter Tiernie-Marie U‘ilani Clagett; husband Ron Clark; mother Dawn (Bernie) McManus; brother Ken Cook; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 9 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church. Scattering of remains will be held at a later date. Call 822-1888 for more information.

Rachel “Aunty Rachel” Poe-Heath of Anahola died April 17, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 70. Born on Dec. 28, 1939, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert “Bunky” Heath, brother Delanor Ikalani Sr. and father Isaac Poe Sr.
She is survived by her daughters Kalei (Chad) Kuhaulua and Alberta (George Keala) Heath; brother Isaac (Barbara) Poe Jr.; sisters Alice Panui, Mamo Arruda, Lina (Frank) Alensonorin, Kuulei Heffner, Hannah (David) Peters and Willien Kapihe; hanai sister Donna (Stanley) Goo; and six grandchildren.
Spreading of ashes at 10 a.m., on Aug. 14, at Magic Island, O‘ahu. Celebration of life at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, at Aunty Rachel’s hale in Anahola.
