LIHU‘E — Hank Kawaihalau, June Esteban and Blanche Tanoue each recorded holes-in-one at the Wailua Golf Course on May 29.
Kawaihalau, of Kapa‘a, was playing in the Kaua‘i Seniors Golf tournament when he aced the No. 3 hole, going 226 yards with his Ti-9 Hybrid 3-19 degree club, according to a county Department of Parks and Recreation release.
The hole-in-one is Kawaihalau’s fourth in 41 years of golfing and was witnessed by Mel and Sheane Mandrigues, Sheila Davis and Steven Kaui.
Kawaihalau used a burner TPLDP ball.
Tanoue, of O‘ahu, aced the No. 14 hole with a 148-yard shot using her Katana driver.
No others details of Esteban’s feat were available at press time.
