Maria Prando
Maria Dela Pena Prando of Puhi died May 2, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 59. Born on Dec. 18, 1950, in the Philippines, she was a deli clerk.
She is survived by her husband Francisco Prando; sons Aruin and Noriel Prando of the Philippines; four grandchildren; brothers Leonardo (Lolita) Dela Pena, Ador (Vergie) Dela Pena and Jaime (Dely) Dela Pena; and sister Lila Dela Pena.
Services will be held at a later date in the Philippines.

Aniceto Llapitan
Aniceto Balatico Llapitan of Kekaha died April 29, 2010, at age 85. Born on April 22, 1925, in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired laborer for Medeiros Farms.
He was preceded in death by his wife Precila Palacay Llapitan; parents Florencio and Augustina Llapitan; and sister Carmen Valdez.
She is survived by her daughter Tessie (Edward) Kouchi; sons Leonardo (Leonora) Llapitan and Eduardo (Alma) Llapitan all of Kekaha; half brother Cornelio Llapitan; half sister Virginia Layson of Cotabato, Philippines; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 8 to 10 a.m., service from 10 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 8, at West Kaua‘i United Methodist Church. Burial at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Christine Puanani “Aunty P” Miller of Koloa died May 2, 2010, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Care Home at age 84. She was born on Feb. 22, 1926, in Honolulu, O‘ahu.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fredrick and Christine Miller; sisters Emma Miller and Dorcas Ahuna.
She is survived by Ruth “Kaui” Cutcher of Kailua, O‘ahu; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 8, at the old Koloa Church Cemetery. Burial to follow.

James Colobong
James “Jimmy” Colobong of Hanama‘ulu died April 18, 2010, at Queen’s Medical Center, at age 64. Born on July 26, 1945, in Kapa‘a, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Lihu‘e Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his daughters Carrie Colobong and Shirley Pacanas; brothers Edward Colobong of Aiea and Ben Colobong of Hilo.
He is survived by his wife Veronica Colobong; sons Robin Colobong and Scot Pacanas both of Kaua‘i; daughter Tina (Craig) Ferreira of Arizona; brother Robert (Betty) Colobong of Kaua‘i; sister Flora Cortez of Kaua‘i; sisters-in-law Louise Colobong of Aiea and Jolana Colobong of Hilo; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Prayer for Jimmy will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, May 8, at 4091 Palikea St., Hanama‘ulu. Light refreshments to follow. Scattering of his ashes will be private.
Casual attire is suggested.

Marilyn Denise Clark of Kapa‘a died April 24, 2010, at her home at age 58. Born on Jan. 18, 1952, in San Diego, Calif., she retired from Apo’s Sheet Metal.
She is survived by her son Lani Clark; granddaughter Tiernie-Marie U‘ilani Clagett; husband Ron Clark; mother Dawn (Bernie) McManus; brother Ken Cook; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Venancio Madrid of Hanama‘ulu died April 29, 2010, at Garden Isle Health Care at age 91. Born on Jan. 1, 1919, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he retired as a truck driver with Lihu‘e Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Eugenia Bergonia and sister Rosaline Fernandez.
He is survived by his wife Rosenda; seven children, Petra (Ben) Barbosa, Angel (Gloria) Madrid, Abelina (Cuyler) Shaw, Norbertha Madrid, Juanita (Rudy) Abara, Jose Madrid and Mark Madrid; sisters Isabella Ramelb, Carmen Butac and Claridad Tangonan; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing from 9 a.m., services at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 6, at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Rachel “Aunty Rachel” Poe-Heath of Anahola died April 17, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 70. Born on Dec. 28, 1939, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert “Bunky” Heath, brother Delanor Ikalani Sr. and father Isaac Poe Sr.
She is survived by her daughters Kalei (Chad) Kuhaulua and Alberta (George Keala) Heath; brother Isaac (Barbara) Poe Jr.; sisters Alice Panui, Mamo Arruda, Lina (Frank) Alensonorin, Kuulei Heffner, Hannah (David) Peters and Willien Kapihe; hanai sister Donna (Stanley) Goo; and six grandchildren.
Spreading of ashes at 10 a.m., on Aug. 14, at Magic Island, O‘ahu. Celebration of life at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, at Aunty Rachel’s hale in Anahola.
