Some habits are so stubbornly good you can never get rid of them. But who would pass a good pau-hana drink anyway? If you too need a fix, there’s no better place than Pau Hana Bar & Grill to have a “Kaua‘i Stubby,” a delicious and fruity drink.
If you have ever been to this cozy bar, in the Kaua‘i Village shopping complex by Safeway in Waipouli, you probably have noticed the hundreds of strange signatures left by customers. On the ceiling. Just look up when you walk inside.
The sweet, lovely bartender Patsy Medeiros will make you feel so welcome you’ll think you are in your own home. Patsy spreads aloha anywhere she goes. That’s probably the reason she has just as many friends in Las Vegas as she has in her birthplace, Kaua‘i.
Patsy has visited Las Vegas many times. In one of her last trips to Sin City, Patsy and some friends were pulling some serious mana, chanting in Hawaiian to the slot machines. Apparently, it worked really well, as they made hundreds of dollars.
It was late, and some out-of-luck gamblers were the only ones left in the casino, besides Patsy, her friends and a cleaning lady. The Hawaiians decided to help, by chanting to the unhappy tourists who had already lost a couple hundred dollars. Joke or not, they ended up winning $800.
