A second girls game had to be rescheduled due to team members having final-week obligations before school lets out.
Balanced scoring by the Kaua‘i Ballers led them to a 31-12 showing over Hanakila “A” in the first of two boys games.
Denmark Aladin finished with a game-high 14 points as four Hanakila “B” players marked double-digit scoring in its 61-3 win over Westside Basketball in the nightcap.
Marlon Cudiamat finished with a dozen points, Mathew Cummings ended with 11 marks and Kelikoa Baclayon added 10 points to round out the double-digit scoring.
Jamin Fernandez and Jed Lagoc marked scores for Westside basketball.
Leevi Bethel paced the Kaua‘i Ballers attack in the Boys Under 14 match, ending the night with eight points, followed by Junard Mata adding six points. Wheeler Batol and Steven McCabe each marked five points, Makana Aki had four points, Willo Batol ended with a pair and a digit from Julian Hines rounded out the win.
Jackson McCullaugh and Angelito Roslin paced the Hanakila “A” attack with four and three points, respectively. Nick Lu and Cole Guy each paired and a digit from Jed Ragudo rounded out the effort.
Following Gonsalves, U‘ilani McCabe and Melanie Moala each added six points and a pair from Lele Hanie-Grace rounded out the win.
Jofferlyn Perpose led Waimea to a 6-3 opening period with four of her game-total 10 points before the Kaua‘i Ballers came alive.
Caitlyn-Amber Owen added four points and pairs from Maethelle Batiulayan, Brandee Burton, Tiana Apilado and Bailey O’Sullivan rounded out the effort.
KYBA announces the opening the Under 12 season Monday when the girls take the court at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center starting at 6 p.m.
The Kaua‘i Ballers take on Westside Basketball followed by the Kamikaze tangling with Kaulupono starting at 7 p.m.
Tuesday night, the Boys Under 14 take the floor with the Kaua‘i Ballers taking on Hanakila “B” starting at 6 p.m. followed by Westside Basketball tangling with Hanakila “A” starting at 7 p.m.
