LIHU‘E — The first “Pedal to the Meadow” bicycle race will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday, from Kekaha to Koke‘e.
Check-in time for racers is between 6:30 and 7:15 a.m. at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center.
The 16-mile course, climbing 3,800 feet, will close at 11 a.m.
Race organizers are asking people to use the Waimea side road to go up towards the finish, while being extra alert at blind corners, narrow spots and intersections.
Spectators are welcomed, but asked to be in position early and out of the competitors’ paths.
Spearfish date change
The Kaua‘i Spearfishing Challenge 2010 has been moved from July 17 to July 24. The registration date has also been adjusted accordingly to June 18.
