Last year Karen Mortensen’s photo of Emily Naeole won first place in ‘Faces of Hawai‘i.’ As part of an ongoing project, HI Art magazine is once again holding a photography competition featuring portraits of the faces of Hawai‘i. Selected entries and artists’ statements will be compiled, published and included in a gallery exhibition. Entry deadline is July 15. Hawai‘i residents of any age are eligible. Juror Kapulani Landgraf is an instructor of photography and Hawaiian visual art at Kapi‘olani Community College. The exhibition and book debut are in November, 2010.
