Eric Arakaki
Eric Tomio Arakaki of Lihu‘e died June 4, 2010, at age 58. Born on Oct. 21, 1951, in Lihu‘e, he was a client with Hale Hauoli and Hooheno.
He was preceded in death by his father Seiki Arakaki and sister Jean Masumura.
He is survived by his mother Kiyoko Arakaki; brother Dennis Arakaki of Los Angeles, Calif.; Susan Arakaki of Lihu‘e and Leona Urata of Waipahu; nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at a later date. Family requests that no koden be sent.

Russel Marshall
Russel Keith Marshall of Waipahu died June 5, 2010, in Waipahu at age 58. Born in Kapa‘a, he was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his first wife Sandra Mahinai; companion Joann Naone; sons Willy (Shellsie) Marshall and Jacintho Marshall; daughters Bridget (Lisa) Marshall and Russandra (Ronald Jr.) Rivera; father Russel Keith (Dita) Marshall Sr.; mother Katherine (Bill) Summer; brothers Michael (Melanie) Marshall and Vernon (Kutchi) Marshall; sisters Katherine (Daniel) Kamai, Travan Kelekoma, Corinna (Rod) Davis, Kirstie (Martin Sr.) Banda and Harlynn (Richard) Rodriguez; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation at 11 a.m., memorial service at noon, on Saturday, June 19, at John’s Garden across from Anahola Beach Park. Casual attire is suggested.

Steven Hill
Steven Jeffrey Hill of Koloa died May 27, 2010, at his home at age 60. Born on Jan. 23, 1950, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was a security dispatcher with the Grand Hyatt Regency Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Fuller.
He is survived by his mother Lucille Hill of Koloa; sister Judy (Melvin) Sanehira of Koloa; brother David Hill of California; brothers-in-law Billy and Zack Fuller of California.
Services will be held at a later date to be announced.

Raphael Ramos
Raphael “The Vacuum Man” Martelles Ramos of Kalaheo died June 5, 2010, at his home at age 81. Born on January 1, 1929, in Honolulu, he retired from Kaua‘i filter Queen.
He was preceded in death by his son Joey Ramos, and daughter Angeline Ramos.
He is survived by his wife Oremenia “Minnie” Ramos of Kalaheo; daughters Barbara (Takeshi) Nakato of Kalaheo, and Kalola of Molokai; sisters Rose (Fernando) Ribao, and Francis Masterson, both of Maui; grandchildren Clifford Nakato of Bakersfield, Calif., and Joseph (April) Nakato from Kalaheo; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.

Patricia Bavengren
Patricia Ann Bartel Bavengren of Lihu‘e died June 10, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 67. Born on Dec. 28, 1942, in Virginia, she was a security guard for Garden Island Security and a Deacon at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church.
She is survived by her daughter Maureen (Mike) Dick of Virginia and many dear friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, June 18, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church.

Robert Yoshimoto
Robert Kenichi Yoshimoto of ‘Ele‘ele died April 30, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 92. He was born on Jan. 4, 1918.
He is survived by his wife Sachiye of ‘Ele‘ele; sons Ronald of Honolulu, Leslie (Lynn) of Seattle and Craig of ‘Ele‘ele; daughter Laura (Kenneth) Imamura of Juneau; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were private.

Miguel Pascual
Miguel Pascual of Koloa died June 7, 2010, at his home at age 90. Born on Oct. 15, 1919, in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired seed cutter operator with McBryde Sugar Company.
He is survived by his wife Perfecta Pascual of Koloa; sons Erwin (Gwen) Pascual and Fred (Candice) Pascual both of Koloa; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 19, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Casual attire is suggested.

Richard Ihara
Richard Hisashi Ihara of Lihu‘e died May 9, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 77. Born on Aug. 7, 1932, in Kapaia, he was a maintenance worker with Westin Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his parents Muneo and Hatsuko Ihara; sisters Ayako Neifert and Akie Moribe.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Ihara; daughters Debbie (Randal) Valenciano of Lihu‘e and Shari Ihara of Kona, Hawai‘i; four grandchildren; brothers Allen Ihara and Wayne (Mitzie) Ihara both of Lihu‘e; sisters Kimie (Gene) Sommerfeld of Oklahoma and Patricia (Alan) Ticala of O‘ahu; mother-in-law Misako Kawamoto of Koloa; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., services to follow, on Saturday, June 26, at Lihu‘e Missionary Church.
Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.

Gordon “Gordon Ching” D. Kenney of Hanalei died April 28, 2010, at age 54.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred.

James Kaleinani “Uncle Jimmy” Puni of Kapa‘a died May 31, 2010, at Samuel Mahelona Hospital at age 70. Born on March 20, 1940, in Honolulu, he was a heavy equipment operator for F.T. Opperman.
He was preceded in death by Jamie Ann (Bradford) Pikini.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Puni; son Bishop Frank (Lauri) Puni Sr.; daughters Alexie Ann Puni and Mary Ann (Mele) Puni; hanai son Juan Lopez; hanai daughters Druscilla (Tim) Summers, Paulette (Luther) Yam, Mary Ann (Semon) Francisco and Dayna Lee (Timothy) Santiago; brother Norman Puni; sisters Yvonne (Haunani) De Canto, Aloma (Hauoli) Puni and Ava (Pomai) Kridler; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 14 hanai grandchildren.

Pacita “Nani” Nievera Corpuz of Puhi died June 6, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 78. Born on February 1, 1932, in Santa Ana, Manila, Philippines, she retired as a field worker with Lihu‘e Sugar Plantation.
She was preceded in death by her husband Simplicio Corpuz; stepson George Corpuz; sisters Milagros Robles and Conchita Nievera; brothers Salvador Nievera and Alfredo Nievera.
She is survived by her children Edita “Didi” (John) Lung of Las Vegas, Nev., Calvin (Liberty) Corpuz of Puhi, Emeline “Rose” (Calvin) Lalin of Wailua Homesteads, Evelyn (Donald) Gonsalves of Lihu‘e and Julie (Michael) Broyles of Hanapepe; stepchildren Jay (Bennie) Dela Cruz of Seal Beach, Calif., Josephine (Tony) Geraldo of O‘ahu, Larry (Estrella) Corpuz of Castle Rock, Colo., and Peter (Marjie) Corpuz of Sequoia, Calif.; sisters Cecilia (Jr.) Anchoris and Remidios (Roger) Remenente; brother Romi (Rose) Nievera all of Alberta, Canada; 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
