LIHU‘E — Maluhia Road is closed today from 8 a.m. to noon to facilitate a community cleanup of the Tree Tunnel portion of the road, states a county press release.
Those heading to or from the South Shore should use Koloa and ‘Oma‘o roads.
The project, sponsored by the Po‘ipu Beach Resort Association, is in preparation for Koloa Plantation Days.
Next week, a county beautification crew is scheduled to continue trimming trees and doing road maintenance along the Tree Tunnel, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
While the work is being done, the roadway will be open to one lane of traffic only, with flaggers directing traffic.
