Rose Vilela
Rose Elizabeth Vilela of Kapa‘a died June 7, 2010, in Aiea, O‘ahu, at age 86. Born in Lihu‘e, she was a boat captain for Wailua River Excursions and Waialeale Boat Tours to the Fern Grotto.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Souza; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m., eulogy at 10:45 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 24, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa‘a. Burial to follow at the family plot in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Ultimate Cremation Services of Hawai‘i.
Alfonso Bautista
Alfonso B. Bautista, 98, of Kilauea, Kaua‘i, died July 12, 2010, at his Kilauea home. Born on May 14, 1912, in the Philippines, he was a retired groundskeeper.
He is survived by his daughters Nelly Bautista, Noreen Bautista and Raina (Thomas) Bautista-Balai; numerous family members and friends.
Visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m., memorial services at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 23, at St. Sylvester’s Church. Inurnment will follow at St. Catherine Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
