WAIPOULI — Three men were arrested Tuesday night in connection with a robbery Saturday in the parking lot at Kaua‘i Village, a county news release states.
They are currently being held in Police Cellblock in lieu of bail.
Hanama‘ulu resident Akoni Davis, 21, was charged with first degree robbery. His bail was set at $20,000.
Vicente Hilario, 23, of Anahola, was charged with first degree robbery. His bail was set at $100,000.
“Kyle Akau, 24, also of Anahola, faces multiple charges including: first degree robbery; third degree promotion of a detrimental drug; first degree possession of a dangerous drug; third degree possession of a dangerous drug; two counts of place to keep pistol; two counts of loaded firearm on highway; place to keep ammunition; owner/possess prohibited; and possession of drug paraphernalia,” the release states. His bail was set at $87,150.
Hilario and Akau were arrested in Wailua at around 8:30 p.m. after attempting to flee on foot when spotted by police. With assistance from the public who called in sightings of the suspects, police were able to apprehend the two men.
Davis was arrested at his home in Hanama‘ulu at about the same time.
