LIHU‘E — Three holes-in-one found their unlikely homes within two days, two coming on the same course, Friday.
Bill Glover of North Canton, Ohio aced the par-4 11th hole, Friday at the Kiahuna Golf Club. He accomplished the unlikely feat by driving the 331-yard hole and finding his ball residing in the cup.
Kapa‘a’s Jim Cheek had a more conventional hole-in-one at Kiahuna on the same day, striking a 7-iron on the 170-yard, par-3 third hole for his eagle.
At Puakea Golf Course on Saturday, Lawai’s Robin Dame had plenty of excitement besides just the hole-in-one. Using a 5-iron on the 200-yard 13th hole, Dame sank the shot off the tee while a brushfire burned to the left of the 14th hole and a helicopter was dropping water from the lake on the 13th hole.
