Matsuo recommends planning for any special needs person or elderly and making sure all information is written down.
Sara Smuda of the Hanapepe Salvation Army provided emergency-plan books for participants. Emergency buckets were provide by Home Depot. The bucket is to be filled with food and supplies that will last a family of four, three days in the event of a disaster. The emergency kits were paid for by donations that were made to Child and Family Service to support Nana’s House. Personal-care items were provided by the Kalaheo Lutheran Church headed by Suzette Kane, and whistles were donated by Janis Lopez on behalf of the crash firefighters.
