LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i Community Radio will host its first “Summer Surf Soiree” fundraiser Aug. 14 at the Church of the Pacific in Princeville, states a press release.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for a lasagna dinner, including a vegetarian option. Dinner price includes dancing to the live tunes of Kaua‘i’s only instrumental surf band, The TakeOffs.
Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening.
The TakeOffs, (Conrad Mathews, Billy Mellow, Ron Rhoades and John Hunt) will perform original compositions and draw from classic ‘60s instrumental groups such as the Ventures and the Deltones.
For those attending to dance, music begins at 8 p.m. Dinner and music tickets are $40, with music and dancing only available for $20.
Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Dinner seating is limited. Tickets are available at kkcr.org; Kaua‘i Music and Sound, Kapa‘a; Hawaiian music kiosk, Princeville, or by calling the KKCR office at 826-7774.
