LIHU‘E — The Rev. William “Father Bill” Miller is inviting all interested to a special reception and reading marking the fifth anniversary of the publication of his book, “The Gospel According to Sam: Animal Stories for the Soul.”
Miller is rector of St. Michael & All Angels’ Episcopal Church at Hardy and ‘Umi streets in Lihu‘e.
The event is Friday at 7 p.m. at the church.
“The Gospel According to Sam” was released in October 2005 and has sold almost 10,000 hardcover copies throughout the world.
The author will share insights from Sam, his faithful Airedale terrier, who survived a house fire and became a local celebrity, and will also read a story from the book.
A reception will follow on the church lanai. This event is part of an entire weekend at St. Michael’s celebrating animal friends.
