Richard Teragawa
Richard Kazuto Teragawa of Hanapepe died peacefully on Sept. 17, 2010 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends at the age of 79.
Born on May 14, 1931, in Waimea, he was co-owner of Kaua‘i Energetic, a retired engineer with the state Department of Accounting and General Services, and a Korean War veteran.
Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Akino Teragawa, he is survived by wife Gwendolyn Teragawa; daughters Iris Akemi (Marvin) Hesapene of Hanapepe, Tammy Michie (Brian) Kuniyoshi of Honolulu, Rachelle Kimie (Mark) Mararagan of Honolulu and Ginny Naomi (Blaine) Agena of Hanapepe; 11 grandchildren; brother George (Amy) Teragawa of San Francisco, Calif.; sister Kathleen (Bob) Oshiro of Honolulu; brother-in-law Wendel (Karen) Ishida of Kalaheo; and sister-in-law Lyndel (Wilfred) Chikahiro of Lawa‘i.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery pavilion. The memorial service is at 4 p.m. The family requests casual attire.
Santos Udarbe
Santos V. Udarbe of Waimea died on Sept. 8, 2010 at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. Born Nov. 1, 1927 in the Philippines, he was a retired longshoreman in San Francisco, Calif.
Preceded in death by parents Roman and Primitiva Udarbe, brother Arsenio Udarbe and sister Alejandra Udarbe, he is survived by wife Julie Udarbe; stepdaughter Suzara (Eric) Viloria; brothers Silvestre (Ella) Udarbe of Kekaha, Istanislao (Ceferina) Udarbe of Kekaha and Juan (lucing) Udarbe of the Philippines; sisters Bernanda Udarbe of the Philippines and Juliana (Boy) Gagto of the Philippines; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be Sept. 25, 2010 at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha. Visitation and viewing is from 8 to 10 a.m., with Mass at 10 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Danilo Galang. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary Kaua‘i in Koloa.
Lydia Pascual
Lydia Jaramilla Pascual of Kapa‘a died Sept. 19, 2010 at her home at the age of 68. Born on April 1, 1942 in Santa Cruz Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a travel consultant with L&M Travel.
Preceded in death by parents Eusebio and Maria Jaramilla and brother Melvin Jaramilla, she is survived by her husband Adriano R. Pascual; son Andrew Pascual of Kapa‘a; daughter Apryle (Kenneth) Rosa of Lihu‘e; hanai daughters Mary Loverne Pascual (Robert Cabreros) of Honolulu and Janet Marquez of Philippines; granddaughter Khelcie Rosa and grandson Ethan Cabreros; sisters Gloria J. Purugganan of Honolulu and Novie J. (Ray) Peralta of Kapa‘a; sister-in-law Cionnie Jaramilla of California; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha, with Mass at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Lihu‘e Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Tatsuo Tamura
Tatsuo “It” Tamura of Kilauea died Sept. 21, 2010 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. Born July 23, 1916 in Kilauea, he was a retired senior panman with Kilauea Sugar.
Preceded in death by his daughter Frances Yamamoto, parents Yoshigoro and Misu Tamura, brothers Nobuyoshi Tamura, Tetsuo “Tika” Tamura and Charles Tamura; and sister Miyako Takenaka, he is survived by his wife Itsuko Tamura; son Lane Tamura; daughters Vicky (Fred) Wong of Tennessee, Gwen Tamura of Kilauea; grandchildren Lori (John) Breit of Illinois, Jon (Jo) Wong of Nevada, Lyndsy Tamura of California, Lance Tamura and Levi Tamura of Kilauea; great-grandchildren Samantha Breit, Carolyn-Paige Breit, Gracie Wong; sisters Michie Yonekura of O‘ahu, Masayo Yoshihara and Chieko Ota of Kapa‘a; sisters-in-law Eleanor Tamura, Elaine Tamura; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held.
Russel DeSilva
Russel Roger Keone DeSilva of Kapa‘a died Sept. 18, 2010, at age 34. He was born in Lihu‘e on Aug. 10, 1976, and was a self-employed upholsterer.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Manuel DeSilva III.
He is survived by his wife, Tamee DeSilva; daughter, Tiffany DeSilva; sons Russel-Isaiah DeSilva and Dylan DeSilva; parents, Macky and Sheila DeSilva; brother, Michael (Dawn) DeSilva; paternal grandmother, Hilda DeSilva; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Parmalee Dato; paternal grandmother-in-law, Fusako Dato; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to join in fellowship and celebration of DeSilva’s life at 6471 Kawaihau Rd. in Kapahi on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the DeSilva family with arrangements.
