Anya Littlefield, a junior at Kapa‘a High School, made the pages of Sports Illustrated this week, said Stacey Machorek of Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics.
Littlefield, a strong SKA and Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation swimmer for Kapa‘a, was recognized for her performance at the Hawai‘i Long Course State Championship meet held in July.
After winning the 200- (2:11.73), 400- (4:40.34), 800- (9:29.76) and the 1,500-meter Freestyle (18:07.08), and the 200 (2:27.55) Butterfly, Littlefield made the listing in the “Faces in the Crowd” section of the sports magazine.
Littlefield went on to finish second in the 100 Free (1:01.63) to earn High Point honors for her 15-16 age group to join other outstanding high school athletes from across the country in being recognized for her achievement.
“Our entire SKA ‘Ohana from Coach Billy Brown all the way down to the little ones are so proud of her,” Machorek said.
