Roy Fisher
Roy “Yogi” Franklin of Wailua Homesteads died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Aug. 29, 2010, at age 77. Born Nov. 3, 1932, he was a self-employed mason contractor.
He was preceded in death by wife Glenda Teves Fisher; sons Gary Fisher and Richa Fisher; and brother-in-law Jack Fine.
He is survived by seven children, Denise Fisher of West Newberry, Vt., Karen Fisher of Fallon, Neb., Steve Fisher of Dallas, Texas, Deana (Koa) Silva of ‘Oma‘o, Joe (Ann) Olah of Las Vegas, Bob (Paea) Olah of Utah, Laurie (Jeff) Ruble of Utah; sister Lorraine Fine of Tulelake, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, at Kealia Cemetery with burial to follow.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Benjamin Akau Sr.
Benjamin K. “Honey Boy” Kananiokalani Akau Sr. died Aug. 26, 2010, at Castle Medical Center, O‘ahu at age 73. Born Oct. 12, 1936, in Lahaina, Maui, he was a retired bus driver for Roberts Hawai‘i tour company.
He was preceded in death by son Benjamin Akau Jr.; brother Lluwellyn Akau; sisters Marie Aipolani and Judith Kealoha.
He is survived by wife Debonair Akau; sons Glenn (Colette) Akau, Guy Akau, Ivan (Maria) Akau Damien D. (Kuulei) Akau Dwayne K. (Erin) Akau; daughter Dolly Anna (Edwin) Garces; brother Jordan Akau; sisters Faith Akau, Ernestine Ramos, Laverne Sanchez; daughter-in-law Yulian Akau; sister-in-law Sarah Akau of O‘ahu; brother-in-law John Aipolani of O‘ahu; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be Sept. 18 at the Koloa Church on Po‘ipu Road. Visitation is 9 to 10:45 a.m. Service is at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Koloa Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
Moyo Rapanot
Moyo Rapanot of Kekaha died Aug. 23, 2010, at Kaua‘i Care Center at age 84. Born May 13, 1926, in Waimea, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by husband Marcelo Rapanot; parents Yamataro and Yone Nishiyama; sister Yayo Tanioka; and grandchidren Kevin Ragocos and Mark Ragocos.
She is survived by sons Cipriano (Nora) Ragocos, Burt (Angie) Rapanot and Brian (Elaine) Rapanot, all of Kekaha; daughters Jill (Dennis) Gerken of Houston, Texas, Rachel (Jody) Alvarez of Kekaha, Karen (Wesley) Yadao of Kekaha, Mila (Royce) Rapanot of Kekaha and Thersea (Daron) Nakata of Hanapepe; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Sachie Otoman of Kekaha; numerous nieces and nephews.
Service is Friday, Sept. 10, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Kekaha. Visitation is 1:30 to 3 p.m.; Mass at 3 p.m. with burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Damon Marfori
Damon Michael Marfori of Kekaha died Sept. 2, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Hospital at age 42. Born June 1, 1968, in Santa Monica, Calif., he was a self-employed fisherman, woodworker and surfer.
He is survived by his father, Michael Marfori; mother, Barbara (Mitchell) Ryan; sister, Denise (Michael) Freed; paternal grandmother, Mary Marfori; two children, Kaila and Noah Marfori; ex-wife, Elizabeth Lawlor-Marfori; two nieces, Jacqueline and Olivia, all of California; and companion, Maria Valle of Kapa‘a.
A memorial service was held Tuesday evening in Kekaha with friends and family. A memorial service will also be held on Sept. 18 in California.
Arrangements are being handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral.
Kiyoto Okimoto
Kiyoto Okimoto of Lihu‘e died Aug. 28, 2010, at Garden Isle Health Care at age 91. Born Oct. 10, 1918, in Lihu‘e, he was a retired manager of Kress Store.
He is survived by his wife, Yatsu; children, Arlene (Wayne) Yamada of Castro Valley, Calif., Joyce (Steve) Nishimura of Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Wayne (Kathy) Okimoto of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephew, Shigetoshi Kimura of O‘ahu; brothers-in-law Minoru Shimokawa and David Shimokawa; sister-in-law, Chieko Oda; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Lihu‘e Christian Church at 9 a.m. with service at 10 a.m.
Family suggest casual attire and flowers may be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Pia Visitation
Pia Cadavona Visitation died Aug. 28, 2010, at Straub Hospital at age 83. Born July 11, 1927, in Bacarra, Llocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired employee at Green Garden Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro; daughter, Trinidad Visitation Goodrich.
She is survived by son, Marcy (Dolly) Visitation of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Esther (Clarence) Estes of Waimea and Carman (Roland) Rivera of Lawa‘i; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Flora Ramelb of Puhi and Melchora Balisacan of ‘Ele‘ele.
Service will be on Saturday, Sept. 25, at Holy Cross Church, Kalaheo. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. with burial at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
