LIHU‘E — The Third Annual Leadership Kaua‘i Golf Tournament will be held on Nov. 21 at Puakea Golf Course in Lihu‘e.
Leadership Kaua‘i attempts to “develop leaders with awareness of and sensitivity to Kaua‘i’s culture and people,” as well as the ability to “succeed in our unique environment and within our global economy,” according to information distributed by executive director Sherri Patrick.
“Our program motivates leaders to effectively address community needs, improve our quality of life and establish and expand the ranks of Kaua‘i’s community,” she said.
The three-person scramble event will begin wiith an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Entry fee is set at $125 per player, which includes green fees, cart fees and lunch.
Mulligans will be sold for $5 each at registration. The entry deadline is at 5 p.m. on Nov. 12.
There is a 50-team limit set for the outing.
The lunch and awards reception following the tournament will be emceed by Tony Silva from “Da Braddahs.”
Sponsorships are being sold at different rates, ranging from $100 for a hole sponsorship to a $1,000 sponsorship that will include two three-person team entries, a banner at the awards reception, a mention in the event program, a mention in “mahalo” advertisement and a sign on tee of choice.
The day will feature a raffle and other prizes for holes-in-one, closest to the pin and men’s and women’s longest drives.

Morita fires ace at Puakea’s No. 16
LIHU‘E — Roy Morita, of Lihu‘e, scored a hole in one on Oct. 2 at the Puakea Golf Course.
Morita’s feat came on the 109-yard No. 16, as he holed out with a pitching wedge from the tee box. Witnessing the accomplishment were Gary Miyahara and Leonard Edayan.
