LIHU‘E — The East Kaua‘i Income Maintenance Unit of the state Department of Human Services Benefit, Employment and Support Services Division, has closed its office in the East Kaua‘i Professional Building in Kapa‘a, 4-1579 Kuhio Highway, Suite 101.
The new office location is the Lihu‘e State Office Building, 3060 ‘Eiwa St., Room 103, a press release states.
The new telephone number is 274-3371, the new fax number is 241-3187. Office hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays except holidays and furlough Fridays. The public drop box is in the parking lot by the former state Judiciary courthouse building.
The East Kaua‘i Unit provides services for DHS public-assistance programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and financial and medical benefits, for the area from Ha‘ena to Lihu‘e excluding Hanama‘ulu.
The West Kaua‘i Unit, located in the ‘Ele‘ele Shopping Center, provides services for the area Puhi to Mana and Ni‘ihau, and Hanama‘ulu.
