Hats off to Jarrett Chytka and his Kmart staff on a great event — even KPD’s Paul Applegate and Darla Higa made it on time after Friday night’s 81st Recruit Class graduation.
Nely Caberto and Bill Arakaki were also juggling schedules between the Bishop Museum HoloHolo science show and the Waimea homecoming football game (it’s great to see some traditions like floats and bonfires are still alive).
Meghan Fujimoto (she doesn’t like the yellow goggles) had air riflery practice before having to help at the science show.
Hats off to Major Victor Aguilar and his Waimea High School Jr. ROTC cadets (senior Kendra Ishida was outvoted on which uniform to wear) for not only doing Saber Unit duties, but helping throughout the homecoming and even fielding a unit to spot and rescue fallen seabirds at the game.
OK, time to go check out the Kaua‘i Made trade show and the first of four AYSO Region 940 soccer championships.
