The McWarrior Night, Thursday at the McDonald’s in Waipouli, is the first step for the Kapa‘a High School basketball program.
During the McWarrior Night, 20 percent of the proceeds within a specified time period were turned over to help the Kapa‘a High School basketball program.
In return, coaches and players worked alongside the McDonald’s Restaurant staff to serve customers between 5 and 8 p.m.
Kapa‘a coach Philip Baclayon announced a full slate of games for the Kapa‘a Green and White Games which will take place Nov. 20 from 1 p.m. at the Bernice Hundley Gym on the Kapa‘a High School campus.
During this annual fundraiser, five games will be offered with an Under 11 Hanakila matchup opening the doors at 1 p.m.
An Under 13 match between the Kapa‘a Ballers and Hanakila will tip off at 3 p.m. followed by the Kapa‘a Junior Varsity Boys Green and White game starting at 5 p.m.
At 6 p.m., the Warrior wahine combined JV and Varsity squad will tip off in a Green and White game, the first time the girls have been added to the program lineup.
The highlight of the evening will be the varsity boys Green and White game tipping off at 8 p.m.
The Green and White game not only serves as a fundraiser for the Kapa‘a team, it sets the stage for the preseason tournament scheduled for the Thanksgiving weekend, starting Nov. 25.
Featured teams include the JV boys teams from Kapa‘a Green, Kapa‘a White, Kaua‘i and Waimea. Each team will play each other once during the three days.
Varsity teams include Nanakuli, Maryknoll, Kaua‘i, Waimea, Island School, and host Kapa‘a.
Nov. 25’s schedule includes Waimea JV tipping off against Kapa‘a White at 5 p.m. followed by Kaua‘i JV going up against Kapa‘a Green at 6:30 p.m. and the featured game having Kapa‘a varsity against Nanakuli starting at 8 p.m.
Four games are on tap for Nov. 26 with the Waimea JV tipping off against Kapa‘a Green at 3:30 p.m. followed by Kaua‘i JV meeting Kapa‘a White at 5 p.m.
Kaua‘i varsity tips off against Maryknoll starting at 6 p.m. followed by Nanakuli playing Waimea starting at 8 p.m.
Games on Nov. 27 has Kapa‘a White JV going against Kapa‘a Green at 3:30 p.m. followed by Waimea JV tipping off against Kaua‘i at 5 p.m.
Varsity games will have Nanakuli matching up against Island School starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by Maryknoll meeting Kapa‘a at 8 p.m.
