Errol “Mala” Kealaonapua Lanning Sr. of Hanapepe died Sept. 29, 2010, at the age of 66. Born on July 9, 1944, he retired from Hawaiian Telephone Company and was a commercial fisherman and boat-builder.
He was preceded in death by parents Carl and Carrie Lanning, sister Sherri Mandez and brother Titus Swain.
He is survived by wife Bonnie (Silva) Labuguen-Lanning; sons: Keala (Kim) Lanning, Michael Lanning, and Troy Lanning; daughter Leah (Eric) Garcia; stepchildren Aaron Labuguen and Janessa Labuguen; grandchildren Eric John (Amber) Garcia, Christy (Josh) Peralta, Malia Garcia, Britnie Lanning, Kaela Lanning, Brandon Lanning, Bridgette Kali-Lanning, Kekoa Lanning, Tai Lanning, Kira Lanning, Duke Alderete-Labuguen; great-grandchildren Kaylie Peralta and Alyssa Garcia; sisters Lorraine I. Lanning, Collette (Teevita) Tovi, Carrie (Alfred) Carvalho, Leslie M. David and Vallory K. Lanning; and brothers Carl H. Lanning, Earl (Lynnette) Lanning and Theodore M. Lanning.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Port Allen Boat Club from 9 a.m. Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
