LIHU‘E — The two workers who were injured this morning in an electrical accident at the Lihu‘e Wastewater Treatment Facility at approximately 11:10 a.m. were in the process of installing a surge protection system when the accident occurred.
Their current condition is unknown.
The men are employed by United Electric LLC, an O‘ahu-based company hired as a subcontractor for Harvey Brothers Construction Company, who is the general contractor for Kaua’i Lagoons’ R-1 Upgrade Project that is taking place at the Lihu‘e facility.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Wastewater service to the public has not been affected by the accident.
