Kumu hula Leina‘ala Pavao was working with the “grandmas” and Na Wahine took advantage of the Kalaheo sunset to get in some practice (thank heaven for iPods!) in the natural cooling winds.
Saturday is also the Food Collection Day for the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank and Judy Lenthall said the people really need help.
Kelvin Moniz will be out and about, and perhaps Jona Villon, the KIFB operations assistant (she’s really good with paperwork), will get initiated into the rigors of Food Collection Day. Judy said they still need volunteers so if people have a couple of hours to spare, they need help at Safeway Stores and the Foodland Stores.
Congratulations to Peter Rayno and Angel Madrid in getting gold at the Huntsman Senior Softball tournament in Utah (that’s why he wasn’t at the Memory Walk)! Angel whacked a three-run homer to give Kaua‘i a 16-15 win over the Florida Bombas.
