John Blaine Sr.
John “JB” Blaine Sr. of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 13, 2010, at age 60. Born in Dover, N.J., on April 9, 1950, he retired from the state of Hawai‘i as a sergeant with the Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center.
He is survived by his wife, Visitacion Blaine; son, John (Michelle Galvez) Blaine Jr.; daughter, Lisa Ann Blaine, all of Kapa‘a; three grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30, at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Blaine family with arrangements.
David Kea
David-John Halemanu Kea of Anahola died Oct. 19, 2010, at age 54. He was born on Aug. 12, 1956, in Okinawa.
He was preceded in death by wife Doreen Kea; sister Susie Kekahuna; and parents John Louis and Venancia Ebalaroza Kea.
He is survived by sons Kawika (Keleen) Na-o, Manu (Chelsea) Kea; daughters Napua (Alan) Jeffries, Venancia (Kyle) Kea; companion Lovey Harper; brothers Vincent (Jaime) Kea, Sam (Liane) Kea, Patrick Kea; hanai brother Robin Escuabro; sisters Jorena Daniels, Patricia (Steven) Tani, Keahi (Ted) Nuuanu, Momi (Leonard) Kaeo, Maka (Edward) Carriera; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will begin Nov. 19 at the Mililani Cemetery, with viewing to begin at 9 a.m. 11 a.m. service and burial to follow.
A second service will be on Dec. 4 at Anahola Beach Park at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
The family request casual attire and flowers are welcomed for both services.
Howard Yokotake Sr.
Howard Tadashi Yokotake Sr. of Hanalei died at home on Oct. 22, 2010, at age 79. Born in Honolulu, Hawai‘i on Jan. 28, 1931, he retired from Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort in the accounting department.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Yokotake; son Howard Yokotake Jr.; and step-son Sonny Ching.
He is survived by his wife, Charming Yokotake; four children, Naomi Yokotake, Leslie “Leggs” (Sherri) Yokotake, Ruth (Douglas) Chang, Roswell (Vicky) Yokotake; step-daughter, Charm (Robert) Mizushima; sister, Marion (Edwin) Nakano; brother, David (Clara) Yokotake; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, at Wai‘oli Hui‘ia Church in Hanalei with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m. Pa‘ina to follow.

Mildred Sugimura
Mildred Michiko Sugimura of Lawa‘i died on Oct. 25, 2010, at age 76. She was born on April 27, 1934, in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i.
She was preceded in death by her son Tait Sugimura.
She is survived by her husband Wallace Sugimura; son Floyd (Ruby) Sugimura of Lawa‘i; daughters Myra (Michael) Niau of Lawa‘i, Terry (Rick) Woodford of Utah and Doreen (Alvin) Aquino of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Robert (Dorothy) Kunioka of Kapa‘a; sister Janet (William) Oshima of California.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at 10 a.m. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Julia Smith
Julia Smith of Kapa‘a died on Oct. 24, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 84. Born on Nov. 24, 1925, in Warren, Ohio, she was an accountant for the University of Berkley.
She is survived by son Robert (Lydia) Smith of Kapa‘a; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held and arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary, Koloa, Kaua‘i.
Anthony Brun Sr.
Anthony ‘Brian’ Brun Sr. of Kapa‘a died on Oct. 24, 2010, at age 49. Born on June 13, 1961, in San Jose, Calif., he was mason-plaster with Shioi Construction.
He was preceded in death by father Anthony Brun.
He is survived by sons Anthony Brian Brun Jr., Michael Steven Brun, Jonathan Alexander Brun and Nathan Matthew Brun; mother Beverly Prigge Brun; brother Barry (Chris) Brun; and three grandsons.
Private Services will be held. Family asks to omit flowers. Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family.
Letecia Sante
Letecia Sante of Lihu‘e died on Oct. 20, 2010, at age 58. Born on March 10, 1952, in the Philippines, she was a food server at Burger King.
She is survived by husband Jovino Sante; children Margie Ricalde, Virginia Sante, Carlito Sante, Franette Bantigi and Jovino Sante Jr.; one grandchild; mother Eugina Dela Cruz; brothers Jaime Dela Cruz, Ikko Dela Cruz and Andrino Dela Cruz; sisters Caridad Dela Cruz, Imelda Dela Cruz and Elizabeth Dela Cruz.
Funeral services on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Lihu‘e Aloha Church. Visitation 3 to 9 p.m. with burial in the Philippines.
