LIHU‘E — Applications are now available for the 2010 Hawai‘i Rotary Youth Foundation Scholarship, a news release states.
Applicants for the HRYF Scholarship must be a Kaua‘i resident, a graduating senior of an accredited public, private, parochial, vocational or charter high school, and they must plan to attend and eventually be accepted to a four-year accredited institution of higher education.
Each applicant must be able to demonstrate through personal references that they have reached out to others through community service or through promotion of world peace through international cooperation and understanding.
The 2010 HRYF Scholarship application can be found on the website for the Rotary Club of Kalepa Sunrise at https://sites.google.com/site/kalepasunriserotary or contact Alana Brun at alanasislandevents@yahoo.com or call Mary Navarro at 346-6784. You can also obtain an HRYF scholarship application from any member of the six Rotary clubs on Kaua‘i.
Copies of the application will be distributed by the Rotary clubs to the high school guidance and counseling offices at Waimea High School, Kaua‘i High School, Kapa‘a High School and Island School. You can ask your school counselor for the HRYF Scholarship application.
The deadline for scholarship applications to be received is Jan. 31.
