Yasmine Ware was recently ranked 10th in the nation for her record-breaking time in the 50 yard Backstroke, according to a release from her club, Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics.
Yasmine, 12, set a new Hawaiian Age Group record with her time of 27.79 seconds for the Girls 11-12 50 yard Backstroke event. She set the new record time at the 2009 Hawaiian Swimming State Championships, held in Kona last December.
USA Swimming, Inc. records swimmers’ times from across the nation from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, then releases a yearly National Age Group Top 10 list for each individual event.
Yasmine will be recognized in USA Swimming’s Splash magazine for her amazing achievement.
