LIHU‘E — The island hosts the 60th Annual Diocesan Congress of Filipino Catholic Clubs Convention beginning Nov. 19 at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort near Hanama‘ulu, a press release states.
“Step up to serve the Lord” is the theme for this year’s convention.
More than 200 delegates from all the islands will be attending the convention.
“Once again, our members in Kaua‘i are ready to step up to the plate to give our Neighbor Island delegates our best hospitality in hosting this event,” said Asun Valvieja, president of the Kaua‘i Council of FCC.
“It’s time again for us to welcome them with our love and spirit of aloha.”
Allan Villaflor of Kalaheo, president of the DCFCC, will open the convention.
Vicar General the Rev. Marc Alexander will be the keynote speaker at the Saturday banquet.
He will also lead the Mass at the closing of the convention.
