KALALAU — A team of detectives from the Kaua‘i Police Department along with personnel from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife flew in to Kalalau Valley Monday morning to investigate a report of bones that were found there, a county news release states.
Police have determined the remains to be that of a human.
The bones were old and weathered with no articles of clothing attached, according to police.
The bones were brought to police headquarters in Lihu‘e for processing and documentation.
Arrangements are being made to send the remains to a lab on O‘ahu today for possible identification.
