Kaua‘i Police Department officers Barry DeBlake and Ken Carvalho, among others, had a long day Wednesday, helping at the inauguration of the mayor and county council before helping at the Winter ‘Ohana Fun and Safe Night in Waimea.
Hats off to Bill Arakaki, Bridget Arume, Eula Taala and all those who helped make this a success. Theresa Koki had to do the KPD thing by attending the inauguration and getting out to Waimea for the 5:30 p.m. opening.
There are two more scheduled — Tuesday at the Kapa‘a Elementary School cafeteria, and Wednesday at the King Kaumuali‘i Elementary School cafeteria in Hanama‘ulu.
Nely Caberto said Waimea High School will hosts its annual free Santa’s Village from 5:30 p.m. Dec. 8, and Sgt. Major Keith Castaneda said Kekaha School will have its winter celebration on Wednesday from 5 p.m.
