Kapa‘a High School girls basketball received the No. 4 seed in the Hawaiian Airlines Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Girls Basketball State Championships.
With its fourth seed in Division II of the state title games, the Warrior wahine enjoy a bye on opening day, Feb. 1, according to the announcement made by the HHSAA Sunday.
Instead, Kapa‘a, the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation champion, will wait to take the court at Farrington High School, Wednesday against the winner of the Hawai‘i Baptist Academy and Honoka‘a match. Kapa‘a tips off at 7 p.m.
Radford High School gets the No. 1 seed in Division II and will face the winner of the Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy and Hanalani match.
The Molokai Farmers get the No. 2 seed in Division II and will face the winner of the Waianae and Maryknoll match from Tuesday.
Kamehameha Schools-Hawai‘i earned the No. 3 seed in the division and will face the winner of the Kalani and University High School match.
Konawaena earned the top seed for Division I followed by Lahainaluna getting the No. 2 seed. Punahou and Farrington fill out the third and fourth seeds, respectively.
Teams involved in Division I include the top four seeds as well as Kekaulike, Kaiser, Iolani, Kaimuki, Kapolei, Pearl City, Waiakea and Kahuku high schools.
