Kapa‘a Head Start recently adopted Anahola Beach Park in its ongoing dedication to keep the island clean. Parents and children decided to take it upon themselves to keep the park free of litter and orchestrated a beach clean-up this past winter break. Current students and families were accompanied by both graduated students and future students to pick up bags of rubbish and even found an old tire. Head Start applications for the 2011-12 school year are available at the Child and Family Service office in Lihu‘e or at any of the eight Head Start centers. Participants of the winter break clean-up include: Front row (seated): Elena Gonsalves-Agdeppa, Alexus Peahu, Zaylee Gayagas and Camille Akiona.
