So, you want to be a doctor? The Native Hawaiian Student Pathway to Medicine will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Feb. 18, at the Kaua‘i Community College Office of Continuing Education and Training Building, Room 105.
Earl Nishiguchi, vice chancellor for student affairs at KCC, said registration is currently being accepted for the free health careers workshop.
This can be done by e-mailing a confirmation to kauss@hawaii.edu.
Nishiguchi said there are no fees involved and no registration forms to fill out — simply e-mail the address with a confirmation so organizers have a rough idea of how many people will be in attendance.
Dr. Satoru Izutsu, the vice dean and director of admissions for the University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine, will be presenting “Applying to JABSOM to become a Physician.”
Chessa DeCambra, program assistant and faculty Imi Ho‘ola, UH JABSOM will be leading “Imi Ho‘ola ‘School of Medicine’ Post-Baccalaureate Program, and Dr. Sasha Fernandes of the Native Hawaiian Center of Excellence, Department of Native Hawaiian Health, UH JABSOM will be presenting “Native Hawaiian Student Pathway to Medicine.”
