“Coach” Leonard Vegas is excited because he was hired to be on the production of the sci-fi movie “Piranhaconda,” the latest film being produced by Roger Corman.
Gary Pacheco said tickets for the North Shore Lions Pancake Breakfast and Hula (and Silent Auction) can be purchased from any of the NS Lions, or at the door. Gary said he’s been buying poi for a special recipe, but the breakfast is coming up April 10 at the Hanalei School cafeteria from 7 to 11 a.m.
According to Janice Bond (she was helping at the International Tri Fest), tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children and will also be available at the door.
Shawn Doo wasn’t sure whether the Maryknoll volleyball team could make it over after that tsunami last week, but when the dust settled they came over and enjoyed games at Kaua‘i and Kapa‘a high schools.
Speaking of tsunami, Sandy Poehnelt of The Right Slice said Mannetti DeCosta and the Keoki’s crew did an all-nighter so “refugees” from the resorts would have someplace to sleep and use the restrooms — great job, Mannetti! And, the food is good, too!
OK, time to go check out Dan Spriggs and Joyce Yang working with piano students at the Kapa‘a Middle School.
