The Kaua‘i High School baseball team received the No. 2 seed for the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Wally Yonamine Foundation Division II Baseball State Championships, the HHSAA announced, Tuesday.
Kaua‘i, representing the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation, will open its bid for the Division II title at 11 a.m. on May 5 against Kalaheo at the Han L’Orange Field in Waipahu.
The top seed in Division II goes to Pac-Five, which opens against Hawai‘i Prep starting at 4 p.m. on May 5, the date for all Div. II first-round games. Konawaena draws the No. 3 seed and will open against Waipahu starting at 7 p.m. Radford is named the No. 4 seed and will open against Moloka‘i starting at 1:30 p.m.
St. Louis draws the top seed for Division I, followed by Moanalua getting the No. 2 seed. Baldwin is the No. 3 seed and Waiakea draws the No. 4 seed.
Division II teams open at the Hans L’Orange Field with the championship game played May 8 at the Les Murakami Stadium at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.
Division I teams start play May 4 with the seeded teams drawing a bye until May 5. All Division I games will be played at the Les Murakami Stadium.
