Happy birthday to Lilly Daily, who celebrated her 95th birthday at the Mokihana Club’s 42nd Annual Scholarship Talent presentations Wednesday.
Hats off to Heide Murakami, Shealynna Ringor, Carlthron Antoine, Hayley Uliana and Kaitlin “Maka” Viernes (she was at Greg Sherpherd’s rehearsal Tuesday as well) on doing a great job with their presentations. Now, we enter the wait-and-see-who-gets-the-scholarships phase.
Lilly wasn’t the only one celebrating a birthday Wednesday as the Kaua‘i High School softball team sang “Happy Birthday” to Waileia Kaneali‘i who celebrated her 18th birthday at the KIF softball game against Kapa‘a, and Kaua‘i manager Red Scovel (Mama Scovel said there was no way they would cancel the game) celebrated her birthday, Mar. 31.
Scott Kaui opted out of K-PAL wrestling practice to watch his daughter Kailia whack the ball, and Kristen Yam came out of the dugouts to don the catcher’s outfit.
And the rains couldn’t dampen people’s appetite for Chef Rafael Camarillo’s bento, which sold out before the game even started.
