Alma Sakoda of Huntington Beach, Calif., died May 6, 2011, at age 66. She was born in Hilo.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Sakoda; children, Kevin, Charlene and Ryan Sakoda; brother, Morton Imamura; and other relatives.
Funeral service will be at 6 p.m., Sunday, May 15, at Orange County Buddhist Church, 909 S. Dale Ave., Anaheim, CA 92804.
The family kindly request casual attire.
Stanley Tateishi
Stanley Satoshi Tateishi of Honolulu died April 24, 2011, at Kuakini Medical Center at age 100. Born in Lawa‘i, Kaua‘i on Oct. 21, 1910, he was part-owner of Hawai‘i Fruit Preserving Company, Kukui Brand products and was also a U.S. Army veteran of WWII; he served with the Military Intelligence Service.
He is survived by wife, Chieko; son, Edward K. of Honolulu and formerly of Kalaheo; daughter, Kathleen E. Renz of Cicero, N.Y.; sister, Doris C. Shimaoka of Kekaha; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 15, at Honpa Hongwanji Hawai‘i Betsuin at 1727 Pali Highway, O‘ahu, with service to follow at 4 p.m.
Casual attired is suggested. No flowers.
Alice Hiramoto
Alice F. Hiramoto of Kapa‘a died May 1, 2011, in Lihu‘e. Born Oct. 18, 1928, she retired as a secretary at GasPro.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; children, Lorene (Russell) Rapozo, Carol (Mitchell) Ikeda, Joy (Gary) Inamine, Glen (Vicky) Hiramoto, Cheryl (Kensey) Inouye and Michael (Stacey) Hiramoto; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of life with family was held. The family gratefully request no koden.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Hiramoto family with arrangements.
