Playoffs for the Kaua‘i Soccer Association start at 8 a.m., Saturday at the North Vidinha fields.
Following a 10-game spring season, the top-seeded team in the various age groups will take on the No. 4 seeded team while No. 2 will tangle with No. 3, the winners advancing to next Saturday’s finals at the North Vidinha fields.
Following regulation play, last Saturday, Makani and Makani Gold of the Girls Under 8 division finished in a tie for fourth place after Makani Gold dropped a 5-1 match against Team Onipa‘a GU8.
Makani enjoyed a bye resulting in each team finishing the season with identical 1-8-1 records and Makani advancing based on a tiebreaker applied by KSA officials.
The Kilauea Strikers dropped a 7-0 loss to Team Chikara ’09 and was eliminated from the playoff round after finishing with a 1-6-3 record, just one point back of the Westside Falcons GU10, who suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Pohaku GU10.
The KSC-Blazing Angels were eliminated from the playoffs in the GU12 division as were Team Onipa‘a GU14 following a 4-0, 9-0 loss at the hands of Lokahi, last Saturday.
That win kept Lokahi in the running, finishing with the No. 4 seed in the GU14 division with a 3-5-2 record.
