Goodfellow promoted to president of Goodfellow Bros.
Goodfellow Bros. announced its board of directors has promoted Chad S. Goodfellow to president.
J. Stephen “Steve” Goodfellow, formerly president and CEO, will continue serving as CEO and chairman of the board of the 90-year-old family-owned company. Dan Goodfellow will continue to serve as corporate VP.
GBI has offices throughout the state of Hawai‘i, with corporate offices in Kihei, Maui, and offices in Washington State and Oregon.
According to GBI’s website, the company’s project list for Kaua‘i includes Lihu‘e Airport, Po‘ipu Bay Resort Golf Course, Wailua Golf Course (irrigation), Kiele Golf Course, Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Course, Princeville Shopping Center, Kukui Grove, ‘Ele‘ele Subdivision, Hanapepe Well Development, Pikake Street and Kaumuali‘i, Nawiliwili Pier 3, Kukuiula Harbor Improvements and Rice Street construction, to name a few.
“Chad is the fourth generation to lead Goodfellow Bros, which was started by my grandfather and his brothers in 1921,” said Steve Goodfellow.
“Family values and the legacy of the company is very important to me, and I am thrilled that Chad has chosen this path.”
Most recently, Chad served as the company’s VP of operations managing and overseeing the various regions. Born and raised on Maui, he began working for the family construction company at the age of 16 as a union laborer.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead such a dynamic group of people,” Chad said.
“I also believe that with opportunity comes responsibility and I am prepared to do everything in my power to see that we continue the success of Goodfellow Bros., Inc. Having also had the opportunity to grow up in these islands, we understand that responsibility does not end in the workplace, but also lies in our tradition of giving back to the communities of which we are a part.”
Tani joins Reverse Mortgage Specialists of Hawai‘i
Shirley Tani has joined Reverse Mortgage Specialists of Hawai‘i, the largest locally owned and operated reverse mortgage company in Hawai‘i, a press release said.
She brings more than 25 years of banking experience and more than 35 years of management expertise to the company in serving the Kaua‘i community with regular and reverse mortgage loans.
Tani said when the government insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgage reverse mortgage program became widely available, she knew viewed it as a way to help seniors find options.
“Although I have helped many of our residents with their first time home purchases and refinances over the years, I am looking forward to getting back into the mortgage business,” Tani said. “I especially look forward to helping seniors with a reverse mortgage loan empowering them to be more financially independent and secure in order to enjoy the twilight of their lives.”
