Kai’s mom, Lani Vanderlip, said she’s doing a second book on Tiny Bear, who like Flat Stanley, makes visits to different parts of the world. She said Tiny Bear has a counterpart, Buster the dog, who is currently in Spain.
Kai’s grandma, Lynn Harmer, is one of the Tashiro girls from Kalaheo who were visiting the graves of Judge Benjamin and Gladys Tashiro, where Betty Ihara had one of her ti leaf angels decked out in special patriotic ribbons.
