Lihu‘e resident Lyle Nemeth was awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America on Tuesday.
Nemeth, who will be a freshman this fall at Cal Poly, was one of 20 different winners from around the country that were awarded the GCSAA Legacy Award.
The scholarship is based on academic achievement, community involvement, extracurricular activities and leadership skills. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a child or grandchild of the GCSAA. Lyle’s father, Victor, is a GCSAA Class A superintendent at Kiahuna Golf Course in Koloa.
